About Me and Who I am

Hi. I want tell you a little bit about me and who I am as an artist, an author and a person.

I am a retired RN who worked in maternity and women’s health for 38 years. Since my teens I have quilted but unfortunately the costs of materials were just getting too prohibitive. During Covid I used up my small stash and began looking for some other creative outlet.

Who I am as an Artist

The look of watercolours had always appealed to me and I decided to give it a try and fell in love with it. I paint mostly landscapes but have tried some florals, some portraits and figures and some animals,

I live in a small town in the interior of BC. Long walks are part of my morning routine. Just steps outside my door are mountains, a lake, marshes, forests, fields, a waterfall, streams and ponds. There is also birds, wildlife and flowers both wild and in gardens. – no end of inspiration.

I am a member of the Ashcroft Art Club and the Kamloops Art Council and have participated in the 2023 and 2024 Ashcroft Art Show and Sale. I have a table at our local outdoor summer market

Who I am as an Author

I first started writing books in response to grief. My first book was of my grief journey and simply for my immediate family members. I found though, that I loved the process. I discovered The Home Boss with Nuria Corbi and took her “Writing Children’s Book” course. That has started me on this journey.
