Welcome to my website. This has been a long time coming. When I first started selling my paintings I wanted to create a website. Art was a hobby for me so I didn’t want to pay someone to do it. I looked at many videos on YouTube claiming a quick and easy tutorial for beginners. Nothing was quick or easy, and certainly not for beginners. they all assumed I had way more knowledge than i did. I’d spend hours in an evening and get nowhere. It was so frustrating and I soon gave up.
This past summer I was asked again by several people whether I had a website and was told I should. I looked into it but it was the same issues. Nothing quick, nothing easy and not for beginners.
By fluke I found an “8 Hour WordPress Tutorial for Beginners.” I thought surely they would teach more in an 8 hour video than a 30 or 60 minute one. I was right. This was what I needed. The instructor was Brad Merrill. He started with the real basics…..What is a domain name……What is a host site. Now for many this might be too basic, but I needed this.
I learned so much. It still wasn’t easy. I had to watch it over a few times but things finally started making sense. I could make a page or post – though there was much trial and error. I still struggle getting everything to look like I want it to, but eventually I get at least close.
My site is published. It’s not complete yet but over the next few weeks I will get all my paintings, cards and books on here. I know this is not the most professional site you might see, but it is my site. I have accomplished my goal of having my paintings, cards and books all in one place.
I am proud of what I have done. I was definitely not a computer savvy person, but I did persevere It was a huge learning curve but I did it. Look through. Come back as I publish more. I hope you like what I do.
