30 Bible Verses for Personal Peace

My Search for Peace

I am a Christian and although I don’t normally advertise it or go preaching, I do hope that my life shows it. It is who I am and it affects, much of the time anyway, how I think, act and react to various situations.

The past few years have been very difficult and painful for my family. I could very easily and possibly understandably become angry, bitter and resentful. But I don’t. Instead I turn to God.

I recall once, years ago, when life was also difficult. God seemed so far away. I prayed in desperation, asking for at least a small sign that he was ther and listening. As I read my bible, suddenly one verse just seemed to grow and fill the page. It was Isaiah 12:2…

“Surely the Lord is my salvation: I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and my song, he has become my salvation.”

My Answer

I read this verse over and over, and as I did I felt this incredible warmth and peace come over me. It didn’t make sense. Nothing going on in my life changed, except this peace. It was amazing.

The feeling didn’t last as I let the worries and concerns of my life creep back in, but I had felt that peace, and I wanted it again. I wrote out that verse and memorized it. When things got bad I repeated it silently or even out loud and each time I felt peace.

I searched my bible for other passages on peace. I wrote them down and memorized many of them as well and have come to depend on those verses. Whenever I even start to feel worried or anxious I turn to them. I have found that when I pray usually one of three thins happen. One, the problem just resolves itself and goes away. Two, God somehow shows me or guides me in what I have to do to deal with the problem, and three, he gives me the strength and patience to go through the problem. It is when this happens that his peace is so valuable.

The Result

I want to share this treasure with you. It is why I wrote this book. God doesn’t promise us an easy life. No, he warns us that in this world there will be difficulties, but he does promise to be with us in our problems and he promises to give us peace that passes understanding.

This little inspirational book would make a lovely gift for Christmas or really anytime, for anyone, or even yourself, who wants some peace in their life.

It will be available on Amazon starting December 6 of this year.

May God’s peace be with you.

Heather
